Senator Scott Ludlam
Scott Ludlam came to politics through his passion for the environment and commitment to social justice. A keen organiser, Scott has helped to run numerous community campaigns.
His work has spanned issues as diverse as preventing uranium mining at Jabiluka and Western Australia, Aboriginal land rights, peace, military bases, climate change, trade, globalisation, and energy market reform.
After several years as the proprietor of a small graphic design business, Scott undertook a degree in sustainability policy to compliment his research work for Greens Parliamentarian Robin Chapple. Since 2005 he has worked for Australian Greens Senator Rachel Siewert.
Scott used his policy and production skills to help drive projects including a handbook on the impact of military bases on Western Australia and most recently a 30 minute documentary on energy issues titled ‘Climate of Hope.’
Recognising Australia’s huge opportunity as we switch to a low carbon economy, Scott’s aim is to ensure all Western Australians share in long-term wealth to be generated from our diverse renewable resources, as much as we have benefited from our mineral resources.
